Parrot Island Waterpark Welcomes Its One Millionth Guest!

Fort Smith, Ark - July 9, 2025 — Parrot Island Waterpark proudly welcomed its one millionth guest on Wednesday, July 9th, marking a major milestone in the park's ten-year history of providing summer fun and memories to families across the region.

The lucky guest, Leslie Alder, was surprised at the front gate by General Manager Drew Peterson and the Parrot Island team, who presented them with a prize package that included a complimentary season pass and special VIP perks for the day.

"This is an incredible moment for Parrot Island and the entire Fort Smith community," said Drew Peterson, General Manager of Parrot Island Waterpark. "Reaching one million guests is a testament to the support of our loyal visitors, our dedicated team, and the family-friendly experience we've worked hard to create over the past decade."

Since opening in 2015, Parrot Island Waterpark has grown into one of the region's favorite summer destinations, offering attractions like the FlowRider® surf simulator, a lazy river, five water slides, wave pool, activity pool and Tiny Turtle Island for younger guests. As the park celebrates this milestone, it looks ahead to an exciting season filled with special events, live entertainment, and continued investment in new attractions.

Located at Ben Geren Park, residents and visitors can enjoy Parrot Island Waterpark along with miniature golf, playground equipment, outdoor picnic areas and pavilions, softball and soccer fields, tennis courts, a 1 ½ mile fitness and circuit walking trail, two 18-hole disk golf courses, over eight miles of paved bike trails, 11 miles of mountain bike trails, and an outstanding 27-hole county golf course.
