BELLEVUE, Neb. — October 2, 2026 — Mattel's first Wonder Indoor Waterpark to open has reached a major construction milestone in Bellevue, Nebraska, with the completion of the building exterior and signature retractable roof. To mark the occasion, the City of Bellevue unveiled new interior renderings which offer an initial look inside the highly anticipated, year-round family entertainment destination planned to open at the end of 2027.

The waterpark will bring beloved Mattel brands including Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price and UNO to life through colorful, immersive environments designed for a range of ages and adventure levels. Families will be able to engage with the brands in new ways, creating opportunities for shared play, connection and memorable moments together.

The new Waterpark is being developed through a partnership between Mattel, the City of Bellevue and American Resort Management, in collaboration with other leading design and construction companies. At the October 1 event, Bellevue Mayor Rusty Hike, city leaders, Mattel Chief Consumer Products and Experiences Officer Natalia Premovic and Richard Coleman, CEO of American Resort Management, along with other VIPs, shared remarks before joining invited guests for a hard-hat tour and reception. Guests experienced the scale of the building in progress and previewed the vision for what's progressing inside.

"This project represents an exciting opportunity for Bellevue and families across the greater Omaha area and beyond to experience Mattel and its brands in a whole new way," said Mayor Rusty Hike. "We're proud to see this one-of-a-kind venue taking shape in our community and excited about what it will bring to Bellevue for years to come."

Construction is advancing on the approximately 100,000-square-foot indoor waterpark, a major new attraction within Bellevue's growing Good Life District. The signature retractable roof will provide a climate-controlled environment through all seasons while also allowing natural light and fresh air into the park. Once complete, it is expected to draw families from the greater Omaha area and throughout the Midwest.

"Bellevue is an important milestone in our broader strategy to build a portfolio of Mattel destinations that bring the joy of our brands closer to where fans live, gather and play," said Natalia Premovic, Chief Consumer Products and Experiences Officer at Mattel. "By bringing some of our most beloved properties together in an immersive, year-round setting, we're creating new ways for families to connect with Mattel while expanding our experiences into new markets and communities."

As construction advances, additional details about attractions, guest amenities, programming and grand opening timing will be announced.

"Seeing the building develop is exciting, but the interior is where the vision will really come to life," said Rick Coleman, CEO of American Resort Management. "Our goal is to create an experience that feels unmistakably Mattel while delivering the quality, service and hospitality families expect from a world-class waterpark."
