Since its mid-January 2018 opening, Epic Waters has grabbed the attention of professionals across the industry. Now, Travel Channel and Texas Hill Country add their names to the growing list of outlets showcasing Grand Prairie's accomplishments to the world, as Travel Channel named Epic Waters in its list of 8 of the Most Incredible Indoor Waterparks. Texas Hill Country also named Epic Waters in its list, 5 Indoor Water Parks for the Most Fun in Texas.

Epic Waters has been featured in numerous high-profile trade publications, including World Waterpark, Amusement Today, Funworld, InPark, and others, and can now proudly add even more to the list. Epic Waters' placement among some of the most elite indoor waterparks in the nation comes as no surprise to those involved in the project.

"The word ‘epic' inspired us," said Richard Coleman, Vice President of Development and Operations for American Resort Management, which manages Epic Waters. "Before every decision, we all asked ourselves, ‘will this be epic?' If we couldn't say yes, we brainstormed until we could. What you see in Epic Waters is the culmination of that type of thought and dedication from every person and entity involved in the project."

A common link among the coverage Epic Waters receives is the retractable roof structure that houses the waterpark. It stands as the largest single custom-curved retractable roof over a waterpark in the United States. Designed by OpenAire, the retractable roof invites guests to better enjoy the sunlight on warm days, and shields them from the elements on those less ideal. Also receiving attention is the thrilling slide package, featuring 11 slides, of which three are the first of their kind in the United States.

The publicly-funded project in Grand Prairie is the culmination of the dedication and effort put forth by the City of Grand Prairie and a core group of private companies and vendors, and stands as a testament to what can be accomplished when the public and private sectors work seamlessly together.
