Mr. Schmelzer has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry in a variety of leadership positions. his experience includes a strong operations background balanced by several key Sales & Marketing as well as Food & Beverage leadership roles. Under his supervision, properties consistently outperform their respective competitive sets in occupancy, RevPar index and guest satisfaction scores. While working with hotels and restaurants ranging from mid market to Four Diamond, Scott has extensive experience in re-positioning underperforming properties as well as accurate assessment of investment opportunities. Before joining American Resort Management, Scott held similar executive level positions with several hospitality industry leaders such as; Hilton Hotels, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Omni Hotels and the Intercontinental Hotels Group. A three time winner of Omni Hotel's "Sales Team of the Year", Scott has been able to assist owners and hotel management teams in redefining their sales and marketing efforts thus generating higher overall revenue streams throughout the operation. Working directly with the property management team and the various brand representatives, he has been an integral part of developing numerous revenue management strategies with profound results.
He brings the experience necessary to accurately and carefully analyze the overall effectiveness of the individual property operations in the effort to maximize profitability, guest satisfaction and employee relations. As a frequent motivational speaker, he has utilized these skills to inspire the hotel teams and individuals he has worked with to increase both guest and employee satisfaction.
Throughout his career he has been actively involved in "Give Kids the World", "Race for the Cure" and several industry related associations.
