Independence, OH - February 18, 2010 - On Thursday, February 4th the Skyline Hotel and Conference Center in Independence, Ohio celebrated their own version of the "Academy Awards". The hotel has gone through a long, lengthy process to select a "winning" franchise affiliation. A variety of potential "Oscar Winners" were nominated but, just like in Hollywood, only one gets the award. The party was elegant, complete with the red carpet, photo ops and champagne. Clients far and wide were present to hear the exciting announcement of who would be the winning franchise. Even the Mayor took time out of his schedule to join us. The General Manager, Scott Schmelzer, took the stage and briefly addressed the crowded room describing their search for the right franchise. Scott commented, "there are many fine hotel franchise affiliations in the world. Marriott, Hilton, Wyndham, Crowne Plaza and so on. We feel this community needs an upscale hotel brand that will stand above the competition and provide the level of excellence this community and its businesses deserve." Carrie Corrigan, the Director of Sales, then joined him on stage, "May I have the envelope plese?" After a brief moment of anticipation he proudly announced "AND THE WINNER IS... CROWNE PLAZA!" Very soon the signs will go up. The hotel will do a renovation and add a variety of new services such as complimentary valet parking. A new Chef with a Four Diamond history has been brought in and a wine list to rival any has been assembled. The future look very AWARD WINNING!
